MY STORY
A passion for Burmese
I grew up on a property in Goondiwindi, QLD. My Dad was an avid lover of animals, and had a kind heart for all creatures great and small. The 'universal cat distribution' as the joke goes, seemed to favour him. He'd bring home strays that had turned up at his work and seemed to acquire cats from different places. A mix of moggies and purebreds, which were all dearly loved.

In the 80's and with a large rural property, our cats roamed free and would gather at meal times. It was my task to line up the 9 piles of biscuits every day for our pride of cats.

I don't recall the occasion, but I remember being taken to a breeder in Toowoomba and being allowed to pick my first cat, all of my very own. I picked a Burmese chocolate torti, naming her Reenee.

She was tiny; likely a little inbred, and her feet pointed inward at the front. And she was perfect. I loved her to bits and she was the best pet a little girl could ask for.

As an adult, I now have a red desexed boy who will be turning 15 shortly. He has brought an equal amount of joy to both myself and my family. I've discovered the joy of showing cats as an adult, and wanted to create a breeding program that supported the hobby.

I wanted to create a program to breed Burmese with the wellbeing of the cats at the forefront of everything I do. That they are happy, healthy & fulfilled. That the kittens are healthy, well socialised and beautiful examples of the breed.
